What is your website writing process?

 Every project is unique and often the “process” just happens accordingly. But in general:

  • We have a virtual or in-person meeting to go over your requirements. During this meeting, we learn about your business and your goals for your website.
  • The home page or a single web page is written first for your approval on the tone and style of the copy. Once that is approved, the other pages can follow. If it is a large site, we can determine which pages are your priorities and do them in stages.
  • Unless it is a small site (~ 5 pages), we “feed” you the copy as the pages or groups of pages are written. We do this for a few reasons: to ensure that we are staying true to the tone and style established in the beginning; to keep the project moving in the right direction; to nimbly change direction if it’s required.
  • All web pages are written for the intended audience. We make sure that your website is relatable and speaks to your market in a language they understand.
  • As part of the writing process, we write copy that uses SEO best practices to make it easier for prospects to find your site online, and help improve your rankings. We do not conduct keyword research. You must provide targeted keywords, or we can engage a service to conduct keyword research for your site.
  • Keyphrases are included in your copy where we know the search engines look for them – without keyword stuffing. Your web copy flows naturally. Always visitors first, engines second.
  • We ensure that no page is a dead end by adding a call-to-action. We look for opportunities to incorporate hyperlinks in the copy. We want to keep visitors engaged and moving from page to page of your site.
  • If your website is new or undergoing a revamp, we provide recommendations on navigation and the overall user experience (UX) to help plot out a path that takes visitors to the contact page or helps to close the sale on retail sites.

Ah, the delicate topic of rates. There are many writers out there and just as many price points. The old adage still rings true: You get what you pay for. Our rates reflect our level of expertise and the quality of our work.
