I had the same odd feelings as you, Louise – it made me realize how much more comfortable I am being ‘behind the scenes’ and ’stage managing.’ I didn’t do a proper prep for myself (although I would certainly have done so for a client) and regretted it. I learned from the experience though, and made sure when I started doing seminars and talks that I treated myself like a client. Well, except that it’s hard to metaphorically hold you own hand.
