My first podcast is definitely not my last

November 15, 2008

When Mhairi Petrovic of Out-Smarts asked me to do a podcast on SEO writing, I was very hesitant at first. I had worked on podcasts for clients before, but never imagined myself actually being in one. Mhairi assured me that it was very casual and relaxed – so I agreed to do it.

She was right. I really did have fun! It felt more like I was having coffee with a good friend, rather than being interviewed. Of course, it helps that Mhairi is a skilled interviewer, and her beautiful Scottish accent is absolutely delightful. I hope you find my first – and definitely not my last – podcast about SEO writing to be helpful in developing your own web content for both the search engines and your site visitors.

  1. I am so glad to hear that. It was great to podcast with you, you sound great and your comments on SEO writing were really valuable. Can’t wait to do it again!

  2. I find it almost impossible to say no to Mhairi (not that I really want to).

I had the same odd feelings as you, Louise – it made me realize how much more comfortable I am being ‘behind the scenes’ and ‘stage managing.’ I didn’t do a proper prep for myself (although I would certainly have done so for a client) and regretted it. I learned from the experience though, and made sure when I started doing seminars and talks that I treated myself like a client. Well, except that it’s hard to metaphorically hold you own hand. ๐Ÿ™‚
